SUPERB receives supplier appreciation award for third consecutive year.

SUPERB Industries, Inc. received its third consecutive supplier appreciation award at A.R.E.’s 2008 national dealer meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in recognition of the outstanding quality, engineering, and value we have brought to their products. We have long-term agreement with A.R.E. Accessories LLC, headquartered in Massillon, Ohio, to manufacture a new Integrated Keyless Entry lock system for A.R.E’s line of truck caps and tonneau covers.

The Integrated Keyless Entry lock system is the result of an eighteen month collaborative engineering effort between SUPERB and A.R.E. “The Keyless Entry System is an example of the type of innovative products that can be developed when companies combine efforts to find innovative solutions” said John Miller, President.

The new Integrated Keyless Entry lock system provides the user with a number of advantages. Most notably it fully integrates with the truck’s onboard keyless system so that truck cap is automatically locked whenever the truck is locked. Secondarily, the lock system has a field activation feature that allows the electronic lock system to be activated in the field. Finally, the system is manufactured with materials that are nearly indestructible to assure security. The primary material used is a Lexan® polycarbonate that is also used to make bullet proof glass.

Dubbed Sol-A-Ray, the system eliminates the challenge of running wires when installing a keyless locking system. The Sol-A-Ray system consists of three components: a low-profile solar power cell (less than .078 inch thick), a stylish molded console, and an ergonomic key fob. The solar power cell is a self-adhesive decal backed with an automotive grade adhesive. The console houses an LED lighting system that fully illuminates the truck bed when the tonneau cover is raised. The console also serves as an enclosure for the wireless electronics and battery pack.

According to Robert Boulard, Vice President of Advanced Design and Engineering at A.R.E., “This is the most innovative and compactly packaged latch mechanism in the entire truck cap and tonneau cover industry. It's a fully integrated latch and keyless entry system that will set a new [industry] standard."
