SUPERB wins gold medal award from Wabash Technologies as an outstanding supplier.
SUPERB Industries, Inc. won a gold medal in an “international manufacturing Olympics” of sorts. Wabash Technologies, a tier one supplier to Ford, gave this prestigious award to only two suppliers in 2005 for outstanding performance – and we were one of them. To achieve this recognition SUPERB supplied 7.8 million components without defect and made all 89 shipments to their Mexico facility on-time, every time.
What makes the achievement even more significant is the fact that we are responsible for border logistics. “What that means,” says Jan Miller, Logistics Manager, “is we must ship all the way from Ohio to Mexicali, Mexico, get our product through customs and be on-time, every time.” In addition to being on-time and defect free we were required to maintain an “A” rating on attitude, service, cost, and technology to be eligible for this award.
“Clearly, we are excited about receiving this gold medal,” said John Miller, President, “It is no small feat to make millions of precision parts with no defects but SUPERB’s team pulled it off. Our people are very dedicated and detail oriented and that keeps our customers coming back.” Paul Pike, Senior Commodity Leader at Wabash Technologies stated, “SUPERB has outstanding customer service and the ability to keep pace with the ever changing demands of the Global Supply Chain at Wabash. They have consistently reached new goals to become a Gold Medal Supplier with their 100% on-time delivery performance and 0 PPM (Parts Per Million) rating.”
