Stamping

Bihler Flexible Manufacturing CellsSUPERB's diverse capabilities provide customers with a one-stop source to consolidate their precision stamping requirements. Our Bihler Flexible Manufacturing Cells can cost effectively stamp, form, tap, weld, assemble, and package components in one automated process that can be tailored to fit each customer’s unique products and needs. With our Bihler Flexible Manufacturing Cells, there is no need to ship components between facilities for even the most complex assemblies. Our single-source production can lead to increased reliability and savings in time and costs. From individual stamped parts to complex integrated components, our commitment to quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness, and efficiency remains unchanged.

Where the complexity and flexibility of a Bihler process are not required, our Bruderer and Kamatsu servo presses provide an efficient alternative to conventional stamping technology. Our thirty and seventy-five ton Bruderer high-speed presses, equipped with custom-designed class A high-speed carbide dies, operate at two to three times the production rate of conventional stamping machines. SUPERB's cutting-edge machinery and commitment to quality have been proven to translate directly to reduced costs in our customers bottom line.

Key Equipment: Bihler GL3000, GRM80, GRM50, and RM35 Flexible Manufacturing Cells. Bruderer 30 ton and 75 ton presses. Kamatso 300 ton servo press.

Terminals and Connectors

Terminals and ConnectorsSUPERB manufactures a wide range of terminals and connectors to customer specifications for the automotive, appliance, security, electronics, construction, telecom, medical, and commercial markets. Our high-speed Bruderer stamping presses combined with SUPERB's best-in-class carbide tooling provide a cost-effective process that ensures consistent Six Sigma quality.

We can process brass, copper and precious metal alloys and package the final product in bulk, reel to reel or stacked for automated assembly. We can manufacture terminals from pre-plated material or have them post plated after stamping depending on customer specifications. All types of plating are available including precious metals.

We offer burr-free parts using two different methods. The preferred method is conditioning the terminals in the die so that all burrs are removed when they come off the press. We can also remove burrs using vibratory finishing equipment as a secondary process after stamping.

Precision Stampings

Precision StampingsSUPERB has developed a reputation for close tolerance stamping. When tolerances are +/- 0.001" and the volume is more than 100,000 pieces, SUPERB is the right choice. The components shown on this page may at first glance appear simple, but each has its unique set of tight tolerances that push the envelope of stamping capability.

The copper heat sinks have a bow requirement that must be held within +/- 0.025 millimeter. Not only is the tolerance tight, but the bow must be one continuous radius with no low spots. SUPERB developed a process that certifies each part meets the specification.

The smaller heat sinks have tight flatness requirements, a coined serration to improve bonding and pierced holes with no die breakaway.

The brass cam follower has 16 fingers with a non-accumulative positional tolerance of +/- 0.001". The entire part including the fingers must be flat to ensure consistent pressure on the cams in the application.

The entire family of motor covers may appear simple at first glance - they are not. The chamfered holes have a non-accumulative tolerance of +/- 0.001 on both diameter and position. These function-critical requirements turn what appears to be an ordinary part into a precision stamping.

Precision Drawn Components

Precision Drawn ComponentsSUPERB Industries, Inc. has taken the techniques of progressive drawn components to a new level. With our precision tooling and high-speed presse we routinely produce drawn components at nearly twice the typical speeds. But we do not sacrifice quality for the sake of speed. Lead Frames and Reel to Reel Stampings

Lead Frames and Reel-to-Reel StampingsSUPERB uses high-speed Bruderer presses to produce lead frames and reel to reel stampings. Our precision carbide dies and dedication to quality ensures that we deliver consistent quality parts to customer specifications. Stampings packaged in a reel to reel format provide our customers with a convenient and economical way to automate assembly.

Multi-Slide Parts

Multi-Slide PartsSUPERB produces a wide range of multi-slide parts including spring clips, terminals and connectors. Our Bihler forming machines enable us to provide our customers with a number of value-added services including: welding, tapping, assembling and packaging.Because we house both multi-slide and stamping capability, we can work with you to develop the most cost-effective approach to manufacture your metal components.

Met Split

Met SplitSUPERB offers unique manufacturing capability with its patented MET-SPLIT technology. This process enables a single metal strip to be split into multiple members with precise accuracy. The technology opens new design frontiers for product engineers by enabling them to incorporate geometric shapes into their product designs that were previously not possible.

The MET-SPLIT technology is designed for prototype, or high volume manufacturing. The geometric shapes can be produced in many different metals including stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminum, and carbon steel. The process is precise and has proven capability to split metal that is 0.008 inches (0.2 mm) thick into two members measuring 0.004 inches.

MET-SPLIT technology finds application in a broad range of industries, but because of its precision, is particularly well suited for applications in the medical, electronics, and telecommunications industries.
